Meet Maile School instructor Lance Smith

Lance-maile-schoolMaile School’s acting instructor Lance Smith is most widely known as the “Voice of CMT.” A Nashville native, Lance spent nearly a decade hosting a variety of programs for Country Music Television such as Can You Duet, CMT’s Most Wanted Live and CMT specials but is always recognized for CMT’s Top 20 Countdown.  Lance also interviewed many of today’s biggest stars.

During his time on the MTV Network he also foun d himself acting on the big screen in comedies like Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector and Delta Farce. Continuing his television hosting career, Lance hosted on the Weather Channel’s Weathering Disaster and anchoring the morning infotainment show The Daily Buzz. Lance is currently the voice of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans during football season.

He is also the author of the children’s book titled The Old Man and the Cat. We keep a copy in our lobby here at The Maile School so be sure to read it.

Lance is now hosting his Advanced Intensive Acting program here at The Maile School. This is our popular advanced program and the next one is beginning Wednesday, March 29th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm (1 day a week for 8 weeks).  Students really enjoy this program and we often have students take it again.

Maile’s acting and advanced acting graduate Hunter Montgomery has taken it twice and has just enrolled again for the third time. Hunter says, “Lance is an excellent teacher who really cares about his students. He is able to get you too truly expand your abilities as an actor. The class has really given me more confidence and has improved my acting abilities greatly.”
