The Maile School is happy to feature acting instructor Tracy Frenkel.

tracy-frenkelTracy grew up in Chicago and at the early age he was entertaining customers at various local restaurants as a close up table magician. He did this until he was sixteen when his family moved to Florida.

While attending high school he was involved in theater and performed in a variety of musical comedies and dinner shows. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville majoring in theater. After a year there he relocated to Orlando and attended UCF. Tracy graduated with a theater degree and a minor in radio and television communications.

He also performed as a stand up comic then moving on to productions. Tracy relocated to Chicago after receiving a scholarship from The Second City. His film role was as a dockworker in Above the Law (1988) with Steven Segal and Pam Grier. His first speaking role in a film was as a hitman, Briggio, in David Mamet‘s film, Things Change (1988), featuring Don Ameche and Joe Mantegna. In between films in Chicago he coached and performed with several improvisational groups.

Back to Florida he landed a recurring role on the popular Nickelodeon sitcom Welcome Freshmen (1991) that ran for three seasons. He played both the male and female roles of Coach Roche and Rochelle. He booked many commercials as well as industrials. In addition he had a recurring role as a pizza parlor owner on Noah Knows Best (2000). His other resumes credits include Unsolved Mysteries, From the Earth To the Moon (1998), Safe Harbor (1999), and Keenan & Kel(1996).

Tracy has been an adult acting and improv instructor at The Maile School for many years and continues to stay busy not only as an actor but a producer, casting director and of course he is a SAG/AFTRA member.
